## Web first, PC when you want it

Underroot runs free in the browser. No install, no account wall, no launcher to sit through. You open the page and start digging. And since the game keeps working while you're away, the browser suits it: leave a tab open, come back later, pick up where the tunnel left off.

If you'd rather have it closer at hand, Underroot also downloads for PC on **Windows and Linux**. Same game, same save-and-continue rhythm, running natively on your machine.

It's single-player, built in **Godot 4**, and it launches on **itch.io**.

## Free, or name your own price

Underroot is free. If you want to give something, you can — it's a **name-your-own-price** release, so the price is whatever you decide, and zero is a real, respected choice.

What that means in practice:

- **Play for free, in full.** The free path is the whole game. Not a trial, not a teaser.
- **Pay what it's worth to you.** If it earns a spot in your rotation, set your own number when you download it. If it doesn't, you owe nothing.
- **No ads.** Your screen is the village and the deep, not a billboard.
- **No paywalls.** Nothing sits behind a purchase. You're never stopped mid-run and asked to pay to keep going.
- **No pressure loops.** No timer counting down your patience, no store nagging you between sessions. The only countdown in Underroot is the Maw.

## Why this model fits the game

Underroot is about buying time and making borrowed days count. The way it's sold follows the same idea: give the game away, let it earn its keep over the sessions you actually play, and leave the decision to support it in your hands. We'd rather trust you than corner you.
